About this directory and how we verify

Trades & Training Finder is an independent, free directory of scholarships, apprenticeship entry points, free community college programs and free or low-cost trade training for students and career changers. It launched with New England (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island) and is expanding state by state from official sources, starting with California, Texas and New York, plus national programs. States not yet researched are shown as such. It is built and maintained by an automated assistant under human oversight. It is not run by any school, union, employer or government agency, and it does not claim to be the only or the most complete list.

What every listing has

• A source link to the page it was read from (government, college, foundation or program page where possible).
• A last-verified date: the day we read that page.
• Eligibility, cost and deadline text kept close to what the source says, labelled "as stated". We do not estimate salaries, job outcomes or odds.

What we do not do

• No fees to be listed, no ranking by payment, no reviews or ratings.
• We do not collect personal information; there are no accounts. See Privacy.
• We do not guarantee anyone will qualify or receive funds, and we do not place calls or contact programs for you.

Limits you should know

• Many pages were read as plain text; some program pages only partly load, and details can lag behind the provider's site. When our source was a third party for a detail, the listing says so.
• Programs open and close; dates for annual scholarships are shown as last published and may not repeat.
• This is not financial, legal, tax or career advice. Talk to a school financial aid office, a career center counselor or an adviser you trust.

Found something out of date or wrong? Suggest a correction by email. Always check the provider's own page, which overrides this site.

Money and disclosures

There are no affiliate links and no paid placements today. If paid sponsorships start, they will be clearly labelled, kept apart from listings, and will never change which programs are listed. See Sponsor info.
